Deveron Gibbons is founder and president of The Gibbons Group, a consulting firm that specializes in building strategic community and political relationships that move clients’ agendas forward.
For close to 20 years, Mr. Gibbons has worked at senior levels in Tallahassee, Florida and throughout the state of Florida’s major metropolitan areas – such as Tampa Bay, metro Orlando, Jacksonville and South Florida – to secure and advance strategic corporate initiatives.
Representative clients include:
- One of Florida’s largest providers of consumer financial services, which doubled the size of its operations with a major expansion into Central Florida and is looking to double its size again with new expansion in South Florida.
- A Florida waste-services company seeking to expand options for disposal in north Central Florida.
- High-tech companies such as Genentech, eBay and Microsoft seeking Florida-based relationships.
Before founding the Gibbons Group, Mr. Gibbons served as a Senior Public Affairs Advisor for Holland & Knight, LLP where he represented city and county governments, non-profits and investor-owned clients with varying interests and objectives, ranging from financial to municipal, private-sector to public trust. Mr. Gibbons also served as vice president and senior partner of Summit Strategies where he built on his broad-based experience to provide clients governmental affairs and political consulting services on the state, county and municipal levels.
Mr. Gibbons is a dedicated community servant. In February 2007, he was appointed to the St. Petersburg College Board of Trustees by Gov. Charlie Crist. In September 2011, he was re-appointed to the Board by Gov. Rick Scott. He previously has served on the boards of the St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce, St. Petersburg Housing Authority, the Pinellas County Housing Authority, the St. Petersburg Museum of Fine Arts, Pinellas County Parks and WorkNet Pinellas.
Mr. Gibbons’ other community affiliations include the YMCA Neighbor to Neighbor Program, Community Action Response Team (Founding Member), NAACP Board of Directors from 1997-2000 and the University of South Florida Water Leadership Advisory Board.
